I don't know where this year is disappearing to, but suddenly we're at the end of July and there is lots happening over the next few weeks!
This Week - Gumnuts!
First up, my Gumnut Workshop is this Thursday 30th July, and I only have 2 places left. If you've been thinking about coming along, now's the time to book before they're gone. Gumnuts are such fun to make and they're one of those projects that look wonderful displayed in a mini vase, or on a hat or jacket/wrap as a brooch.
Creative Coffee Morning
Our next Creative Coffee Morning (BYO Project) is on Wednesday 5th August 10am – 12 midday. These mornings are a lovely way to spend a couple of creative hours together. Bring along whatever you're working on, enjoy a coffee, have a chat, ask questions if you need help, and soak up some inspiration from everyone else. No pressure, no formal teaching - just good company and creativity. Book through my website:
New Workshop - Pebbles & Gift Soaps
I've also been putting together a new workshop that combines needle felting and wet felting.
You'll make a beautiful felted gift soap along with matching decorative pebbles, so you'll leave with a completed handmade gift ready to give away... or keep for yourself!
I think it's going to be a really relaxing workshop and a great introduction for anyone wanting to try both techniques.
Nannup Flower & Garden Festival
I'm very excited to be returning to the Nannup Flower & Garden Festival on the second weekend in August.
I'll be teaching two workshops that are designed to be affordable, fun and achievable.

🌷 A Mini Tulip that can also be turned into a wearable brooch.
They're lovely little projects and perfect if you'd like to have a go at needle felting along with enjoying the beautiful environment of Nannup and the festival. There is so much happening. Link to the tickets and programme below.
Looking Ahead... Christmas! 🌲🎄🌲
Yes... I know... it's only July!
But if workshops are going to be ready in time for you to make stuff ready for Christmas, I need to start planning now!
My current idea is to offer a value series of three Christmas workshops, with each project building your festive collection.
At the moment I have designed and practiced:
Christmas Baubles
A Christmas Gnome
A Bluebird or Robin
An Angel
I did make a little Christmas tree as well... but I'm still not convinced it's quite right!
One of the interesting parts of designing workshops is balancing what I think people would like to make with what I personally feel inspired to create.
For example, I loved making my robin and bluebird, but the robin was me trying to design what I thought people would like, yet the blue bird is more me (yes turquoise again and I think he looks better in real life!!). I do like to have flexibility in my workshops for you to find your own creativity but also have a plan for you to follow. The design is pretty much the same, so I think I might offer the option during the class…what do you think? I can maybe make a few more similar birds for inspiration??????
I am curious which Christmas project appeals to you the most? If one design proves especially popular, I'll also run it as a standalone workshop. I am going to try to design a little poll below for you to complete. Let’s see if it works - I think you just need to click on it?!😆

My Ocean workshops have now come to an end for the season.
However, I still have a couple of people who have expressed interest, so if you missed out and would still like to do one, please send me a message. If there's enough interest, I'm very happy to schedule another one.
Highland Cow?
I've also had several enquiries about making a Highland Cow.
Because of the amount of detail involved, this would definitely need to be an 8-hour workshop.
Would you prefer:
one full day, or
two half days?

A Little Personal News...
As many of you know, my son is getting married in September. Here's a recent photo of us...
I have been requested to wear navy blue…..
After searching in town and not really finding anything I loved, I discovered that Vinted, the British second-hand clothing marketplace I'd used while travelling around Europe when needing smart outfits for a 21 night cruise, has now opened in Australia.
Well...
That discovery has been a little dangerous.
I now own three navy dresses, two pairs of navy boots, one pair of navy shoes, two handbags and three wraps...(And that is just for the wedding! I have also bought two pinafores, a velvet cap, leather gloves and a top! Oops!😆)
The postage has been around $4.50 each parcel, and my first few purchases even came with free shipping, way cheaper than sending stuff from here to the UK!
The handy thing is that many sellers list items that are brand new (sometimes still with tags attached) or have only been worn once. You can filter your searches if that's your preference.
So, if you're hunting for something a little different without paying full retail prices, it might be worth a look. Note: I am not being paid to tell you this, it has just been really useful 😊.
And Finally...
Last weekend I had the pleasure of helping the wonderful team at Gilbert's Wines at the Perth Convention Centre for the Food & Wine Show.
What a fabulous weekend!
There were wonderful people, delicious food, excellent wine, lots of laughs... and yes, I did manage to come home with some very nice wine and tasty treats. If you are looking for some wonderful wine from a lovely Great Southern family winery now into their fourth generation you can get more info below. I have been drinking their wine for over 17 years now! I sometimes do local events/tastings. Let me know if you know of any opportunities, I am always happy to support this lovely family.
