Hello lovely woolly friends! Here's some Needle Felting Workshop News, New Creations and a special Welcome to everyone I met at the Pinjarra Festival who are new to my emails/blog!

What a fantastic weekend I had at the Pinjarra Festival – it was just the perfect blend of family/community activities, country charm, tasty treats and creative offerings. I loved meeting so many new people interested in needle felting, having a laugh, sharing stories, and showing you all my woolly creations at my stall. I maybe have to stop talking so much sometimes, I just love what I do!

I always get excited when my creations get to go on a trip. The Pinjarra Festival was not short on providing travelling opportunities for my lovely woollys! My red gumnuts and kangaroo paws are on their way to Japan with a beautiful young woman who was so pleased to take a bit of Australia home, my fish painting is off to the USA, and a sheep and mushroom are off to the UK! I kind of feel like a little bit of me travels without leaving home.

I am delighted to share that my Gumnuts & Blossoms workshop sold out in three days– thank you for your support and enthusiasm! If you missed out, don’t worry – I’m thinking of running another one in August, either at the Pinjarra Arts Hub or in my own cosy studio in Halls Head. Would you be interested? Let me know what suits you best: weekday or weekend, Pinjarra or Halls Head, or somewhere else? – I have tried adding a poll below, my first in blog, I hope it works! I’d love to hear from you.

Would you like the workshop to be on:

  • A weekday?

  • A weekend?

  • A weekday evening?

  • A weekend evening?

And speaking of my home studio… Did I mention I’m now fully insured to run workshops here for up to four people?  This was a wonderful insurance win! The company I was with for Home and Contents Insurance wouldn't cover me for business, so I shopped around, and ended up saving money overall as well as getting business cover and lower excesses! Yay! Great to get an insurance win! My Studio is a peaceful, light-filled space that’s perfect for a creative escape (and there's always a cuppa waiting!). Let me know if you are interested, I can tailor workshops to suit you and your friends/family.

Talking of workshops, there are still a few places available for my next workshop, Christmas in July, on Sunday 13th July – we’ll be creating a beautiful star garland and some Christmas baubles to bring a little festive magic to your mid-winter. It's excellent value including all you need, a kit to take home and morning tea! Great to get into crafting these festive gifts earlier rather than later! I’d love to have you there!

I hope you’ve all stayed safe and dry through the recent storms – I’ve been snuggling up indoors, doing a bit of needle felting (of course!), some knitting, and dreaming up new felted creations that I can’t wait to share with you soon. One was my black kangaroo paw…. What do you think?

Before I go, here’s a little needle felting tip for your next project: To get a smoother finish, insert your needle gently and shallowly at a steep angle – this helps catch those stray fibres and tidy up your final product beautifully. Don't forget that the needle has to go in and out in the same direction or it can break!

Anyway, that is all for now. Wishing you a wonderful, woolly day – stay warm, stay creative, and I hope to see you again soon!
