There is something quietly special about this time of year—when creativity starts to gather momentum, ideas begin to take shape, and my little studio fills with the lovely sound of making.

I’m delighted to be part of this year’s Mandurah Open Studios, and even more excited to share that my work will also be featured in an exhibition at the Alcoa Mandurah Art Gallery, located within the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre.
Exhibition Dates: 13 April – 10 May 2026
If you’re in the area, it’s a wonderful opportunity to explore a wide range of local artists and perhaps even find a piece that speaks to you.
For the Mandurah Open Studios Event - see if you can pick up the Guide Book! I am Number 19, on page 33 and will be at the Halls Head Community Hall (the old Yacht Club, where they now kayak) for the two weekends of the Festival.
A Little First Look - Workshops Coming Soon....

Alongside Open Studios, I’ve been quietly working away behind the scenes creating a new collection of workshops—and I wanted you, my lovely community, to have the first glimpse before they are released more widely.
This year’s offerings include:
Gentle beginner taster sessions
Ocean-inspired wool paintings
Miniature landscapes in tiny frames
Sweet gumnut brooches inspired by our Australian flora
Full-day immersive workshops creating sheep, felted pebbles, and more
Each workshop is designed not just to teach a skill, but to offer a pause from the busyness of life—a chance to sit, create, and reconnect with your hands and your creativity.
Bookings have just opened on my website, and as always, spaces are very limited (just four per workshop), so this is your chance to start thinking about what you might like to join.

From the Studio – Creative Moments....

My most joyful parts of this work are the moments shared in the studio.
Recently, I ran a new workshop where we created delicate felted jellyfish—soft, flowing, and full of movement. Watching each one take on its own personality was such a reminder that no two creations are ever the same, even when we begin in the same place.

I also had the pleasure of working one-on-one with a teacher of five-year-olds, who wanted to explore how needle felting might be introduced in a classroom setting.
There’s often a natural hesitation when it comes to using sharp tools with young children—and rightly so—but with the right guidance, structure, and respect for the process, it can be such a valuable learning experience.
Children learn:
Focus and concentration
Fine motor skills
Patience and care
Confidence in using real tools
Pride in creating something with their own hands
It was a beautiful session, full of curiosity and thoughtful discussion, and a lovely reminder that creativity isn’t about perfection—it’s about exploration.
Looking Ahead...
As we move into this next season of workshops and exhibitions, I feel incredibly grateful to be able to share this work with you. Whether you visit during Open Studios, come along to an exhibition, or join me in the studio for a workshop, you are always so warmly welcome.
If something has caught your eye, or you’d like to register your interest early, please feel free to get in touch. If you have any ideas on what you would like to make, feel free to make a suggestion, I am sure someone else out there has the same idea!
So, bye for now and hoping to see you soon!
With warm woolly regards,
Audra Guy
